Since 2009, Iowa Rush has intentionally grown our staff and operations to support the increasing number of players in our sport. Over the past 17 years, more than 15,000 players have experienced Iowa Rush programming and developed a love for the game. We have grown to include locations in Waverly, Pella, and work in partnership with VSA in the Waukee community and Apex in the Warren County area. We are proud to support our communities by participating in local events such as elementary school fun nights, parades, and trunk-or-treats. Many of our club coaches also serve on local high school soccer staffs, helping raise the soccer standard and further the game for players throughout our communities. Our investment in players goes beyond the field. We believe in mentoring the next generation of coaches, creating pathways for Iowa Rush alumni to begin their coaching careers. Over the last 10 years, we’ve hired over 25 Iowa Rush alumni as coaches, including 11 on our current staff. These individuals have lived our club culture and now bring those experiences back to our current players. Alongside our alumni, our staff includes former college coaches, coaches with international backgrounds, and club coaches who bring a wide range of perspectives and expertise. As we look ahead to the Spring 2026 season and beyond, we’re taking a moment to reflect on where it all began—and where we’re going next. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing a series of posts that celebrate the history of Iowa Rush and the vision that continues to drive our future. Iowa Rush officially began in 2009, built on the strong foundation of the Ankeny Soccer Club. From the very beginning, our leaders shared a clear goal: to create better soccer opportunities for Iowa families while staying true to our community roots. Joining the national Rush Soccer organization opened the door to greater regional and national opportunities for our players, shared resources with some of the top soccer minds in the country, and proven pathways for player development.
