Iowa Rush Cares is proud to announce the first Player Spotlight! This spotlight will feature Camden Cox, a member of the Iowa Rush u14 boys. Camden is pictured below at the YMCA award banquet.
During 2013, Camden completed 2 volunteer projects- one which led him to earn his Eagle Scout rank and the other which earned him the title of YMCA of Ankeny Youth Volunteer of the Year. Camden's Eagle Scout Project consisted of organizing a collection of personal hygiene items for Des Moines Community Action Agency, a non-profit in Des Moines that works to help low-income individuals become self-sufficient. Camden's project required him to organize members of his troop to assist him in his effort to gather items at the local Ankeny Hy-Vee. In total, Camden collected 3,000 items and about $300.
Below is a picture of Camden during his Eagle Scout Project (second from left, standing).
Camden's nomination as the YMCA of Ankeny's Youth Volunteer of the Year came after volunteering for swim meets and events the YMCA held to benefit their Partner with Youth campaign. Camden said, " I wanted to help the Y because I would be making a difference in my community."
Iowa Rush Cares would like to congratulate Camden on his achievements and thank him for being a positive representative of the Iowa Rush and for displaying the Rush Core Values both on and off the field!
