Iowa Rush Announce New Director of Coaching-Recreation
The Iowa Rush is proud to announce the hiring of Candice Fabry as the new full-time Director of Coaching-Recreation. Candice has worked in the club previously, having served in many roles within the club, including Select Coach, Administrator and Registrar. With her new position and role with the club the Iowa Rush is looking to a add full-time staff member to oversee all portions of the recreation branch within the club, including the administration/registration aspects and the on-field portions overseeing players, parents and coaches within the Recreation Program.
Candice grew up playing youth soccer in the Chicago-land area, culminating in a Division 1 Collegiate Career at the University of Toledo, where she helped them garner the school’s first Mid-American Conference Championship and birth into the NCAA National Tournament. She quickly worked her way into the coaching ranks and has served as a director of coaching, staff coach, collegiate assistant coach and a coaching school instructor at various clubs and institutions. Candice has worked with many youth soccer clubs including the Iowa Rush, Des Moines Menace, Anthony Wayne YSC, and the Pacesetter Soccer Club in Ohio. She has worked with some of the state and region’s best players within the Olympic Development Program (ODP), with elite collegiate players, youth players at the beginning stages of development and everything in between. Candice currently holds her USSF “B” coaching license as well as her USYSA National Youth coaching license and is currently working towards a Master’s of Science in Recreation, Sports and Tourism through the University of Illinois.
The new Director of Coaching-Recreation will work with the Executive Director and the Technical Director to provide a quality soccer experience for players, volunteer coaches and parents that ties into the Iowa Rush Philosophy, Curriculum and Programming. She will organize and oversee the Recreation branch of the club while working to increase community connections/awareness of the rec program and the club through in-school or after-school programs and clinics. The Rec Director will run training sessions for players, instruct coaches and educate parents.
With the hiring of Candice as the Director of Coaching-Recreation, the Iowa Rush is hoping to expand the quality of the recreational soccer experience and provide more direct oversight and to its players, volunteer coaches and members.
