2013 Iowa Rush Frozen 4’s Tournament Recap
Iowa Rush’s third annual 4v4 futsal indoor tournament was held this past weekend at the new Kingdom Hoops Facility near Ankeny on February 23rd for the boys and February 24th for the girls. Both one-day events were well-attended with 32 girls’ teams and 40 boys’ teams, attracting over 350 players from Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Des Moines, West Des Moines, Ames, Ankeny, and other central Iowa locations to participate. This year saw the largest number of non-Iowa Rush teams participating indicating that the Frozen 4’s tournament is beginning to gain notoriety as a premier futsal event in the greater Des Moines area. With this being the largest Frozen 4’s to date the Iowa Rush would like to send a special thank you to our volunteers for assisting in making this a successful event!
At the boys’ event on Saturday, CRSA had a great showing placing teams in the U11, U12, U14, and U16 finals. The results below indicate Champion and Runner-up for each age group:
At the girls’ event on Sunday, Iowa Rush teams took 1st and 2nd in all age groups except for the U10’s. This was an excellent showing for the Iowa Rush girls.
